Addison Group needed a series of trainings on leadership principles for their management team. I started with the script, rewriting it to sound conversational and to build in sequence, so each section rested on the one before it.
One training in the series covered task prioritization. It opens with a brainstorm: learners type in five leadership tasks they handle on a regular basis, and the screen tells them plainly that this list will come back later.
It does. Once learners have worked through the Action Priority Matrix, their own five tasks return one at a time to be dragged onto a quadrant — quick win, major project, fill in, or thankless task. They are sorting their own work against impact and effort, not a scenario I wrote for them.
